Sasak Soul began as a surf school in 2014 and is in the process of building one of the few locally owned surf camps in Kuta, Lombok, offering an all-in-one surf experience. Founded and run by local surfer Sandy and his tight-knit team of professional instructors, we share the island the way only locals can.

Born and raised in the fishing village of Kuta, Lombok, Sandy learned to surf at just six years old with a plank of wood. With over 25 years of experience, he knows Lombok’s waves inside and out. From first-time surfers to experienced wave hunters, every lesson and guided session is tailored to suit your level and goals. We are dedicated to not only improve your surfing but being more confident in the water aswell.

At Sasak Soul, we share insights and moments you simply won't find anywhere else. We create an authentic surf experience rooted in respect — for the land, the ocean, the local community, and the Sasak culture. We are committed to surf tourism that gives back, builds lasting relationships, and protects the environment we call home.

Surf Camp

Sasak Soul Surf Camp is being built as a relaxed, locally rooted surf camp in Kuta Lombok. Designed for surfers who want more than just waves, the camp blends guided surfing, mindful recovery, and genuine local hospitality.

To keep the experience flowing and the group connected, we will only be running weekly surf camps from Sunday to Sunday. This allows the group to settle in, progress together, and create a relaxed group dynamic throughout the week.

The Experience

Guest will be assigned an instructor for the week based on their experience (max 2 guest per instructor) This makes it easier to form a relationship and help with your progression.

Days will be spent chasing the best surf conditions for your level. Evenings to unwind, stretch out and share stories.

Easy, social and unpretentious - more like staying with friends than a resort.

Location

We are located in the heart of Kuta, South Lombok - just minutes from some of the island's most consistent surf breaks. Set in a quiet pocket away from the main road but still within walking distance to shops and restaurants.
